Talizman
(Sung text for setting by O. Kolberg)
 Matches base text
Language: Polish (Polski)
Tam gdzie morskie biją wały
o skał dzikich twardy bok,
gdzie księżyca blask wspaniały
cichej nocy srebrzy mrok,
gdzie w haremach czcząc proroka
dni przepędza muzułman,
czarodziejka czarnooka
ten mi dała talizman.

I oddając tak mówiła:
Synu, pilnie dar ten chroń,
w nim czarowna skryta siła,
dajeć go przyjazna dłoń.
Od cierpienia, od mogiły
lub gdy zabrzmi huragan,
głowy twojej, o mój miły,
ten nie zbawi talizman.

Composition:

Set to music by Oskar Kolberg (1814 - 1890), "Talizman" [ voice and piano ]
