Glücksvögelein
(Sung text for setting by L. Greger)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
In des Baumes grünen Ranken
sitzt ein munt'res Vögelein,
und es zwitschert seine Gedanken
lustig in die Welt hinein:
Ich hab' dich lieb, bist all mein Glück!

Doch nun muss der Jüngling ziehen,
und er eilt von Ort zu ort,
aber seine Gedanken fliegen
oft zur fernen Liebsten fort.
Ich hab' dich lieb, bist all mein Glück!

Klangen Frühlingslieder,
und das munt're Vöglein sang,
als er's traute Liebchen wieder
heiß mit seinem Arm umschlang:
Ich hab' dich lieb, bist all mein Glück!

Composition:

Set to music by Luise Greger (1862 - 1944), "Glücksvögelein"
