Der Frühlingssonnenschein
(Sung text for setting by J. Mayer)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es nicken die duftigen Rosen
ins off'ne Fenster herein
und grüßen mich herzinnig
vom Lenz und Sonnenschein.

O schöner, holder Frühling,
o bliebest du ewig da,
wie fühlt' ich dann die Wonne
des offenen Himmels mir nah!

Wie wär' der Schmerz und die Sorgen
der frohen Seele so fern,
wie glühte dann rein und edel
der ewigen Liebe Stern!

O Frühling, goldener Frühling, zieh
ins Herz mir tief hinein,
dass ewig drinnen leuchte
dein holder Sonnenschein!

Composition:

Set to music by Josef Anton Mayer , "Der Frühlingssonnenschein" [ voice and piano ]

Text Authorship:

  • by Wera, Herzogin von Württemberg (1854 - 1912)
