Liebesgruß
(Sung text for setting by B. Randhartinger)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich bin dir, ach, so ferne,
Und möchte bei dir sein,
Und sagte dir so gerne
Ein Wörtchen ganz allein.

Es grüssen Rosen ferne
Mit Duft sich liebebang,
Mit gold'nem Strahl die Sterne
Und Herzen mit Gesang.

So wall', o Lied, als Bote
Zu ihrem Herzen hin,
Doch scheu vor ihrem Spotte,
Ertöne nicht zu kühn!

Nur schüchtern nah' dem Kreise,
Dem Himmel ihres Lichts:
Begrüsse nur sie leise,
Vom Herzen sage nichts!
