Ein leises Wort aus deinem Munde
 (Sung text for setting by A. Wallnöfer)
 See base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein leises Wort aus deinem Munde
ist mir süß tönende Musik;
von allen Himmeln gibst du Kunde
aus deinem Aug' ein holder Blick.

Unendlich mehr sagt mir dein Schweigen
als alle Stimmen dieser Welt,
doch deines Hauptes schmerzlich Neigen
umnachtend auf mein Leben fällt.

O lass mich deine Stimme hören,
mich sehen den geliebten Blick!
Du kannst allein das Leid beschwören
und segnend wenden mein Geschick.

Composition:

    Set to music by Adolf Wallnöfer (1854 - 1946), "Ein leises Wort aus deinem Munde", op. 57 no. 3 [ voice and piano ]
