Lovely Spring
 (Sung text for setting by E. Aguilar)
 Matches base text
Language: English
Lovely spring is come again,
bearing nature's treasure;
streams escape from icy chain,
and the air breathes pleasure.

Youths and maidens! Life's spring tide
hasten forth in greeting;
deck the May-queen's throne of pride,
emblem of the meeting.

Bath in May-dew each bright eye,
each fair cheek so glowing;
fill the cup of beauty high,
fill to overflowing.

Nature calls, oh hear the birds,
winged spirit voices,
songs divine that need not words,
'tis the heart rejoices.

Many tinted buds awake,
spring's bright zone to jewel;
sweetly breathing as they break
winter's prison cruel.

Streams are flowing tro' the vale,
flow'ry banks caressing;
Let us all Spring's promis hail,
bless her for her blessing!
