Lied am Grabe
 (Sung text for setting by C. Loewe)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ruhig ist des Todes Schlummer
Und der Schooß der Erde kühl,
Da stöhrt unsre Ruh kein Kummer
Nicht der Leidenschaften Spiel;
Unsre Sorgen groß und klein
Schlummern alle mit uns ein.

Über unsern Hügel schwinget
Die Vergessenheit den Stab,
Und der Sehnsucht Stimme dringet
Nicht ins stille dunkle Grab;
Fehler die uns hier besiegt,
Werden dann nicht mehr gerügt.
