Schwäbisches Tanzlied
 (Sung text for setting by C. Weber)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Geiger und Pfeifer,
hier habt ihr Geld darauf,
schwäbische Schleifer,
dudelt mir auf.
Heissasa, hopsasa,
hallala, trallala,
Spielmann, hab' Eifer,
Tänzerin, lauf!

Der mit dem Sabel,
Leibstück des Oberlands,
wässert den Schnabel,
gelt, du mein Hans?
's Herz in dem Leibe lacht,
wenn man ihn zierlich macht;
Braten und Gabel
weichen dem Tanz.

Lustig in Ehren
kann, was auch's Herrle spricht,
niemand verwehren,
Frohsein ist Pflicht!
Traurigkeit, Fröhlichkeit,
alles hat seine Zeit,
Freuden zu stören
ziemet sich nicht.

Hellauf, ihr Brüder,
Söhne des Schwabenlands,
schlenkert die Glieder,
Michel und Franz!
Schlingt eure Mädchen um,
walzet im Ring herum;
frohe Gemüter
lieben den Tanz.
