Der Schwimmer
(Sung text for setting by C. Loewe)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
O Freude, o Wonne,
wie scheinet die Sonne
in wärmender Glut!
Es säuseln die Winde
so leis' und so linde,
hinein in die Flut!

Hinunter gesprungen
und mutig gedrungen
ins Wellengewühl!
Wir kommen gezogen
auf schäumenden Wogen,
auf schwebendem Pfühl.

Wir rudern und ringen,
die Flut zu bezwingen,
wohl sicher und kühn!
Es fürchtet ja nimmer
ein rüstiger Schwimmer
Gefahren und Mühn.
