La luna s'alza a sera e passa i monti,
la va, la va, la non si ferma mai,
si specchia nelle valli in mezzo ai fonti,
ella fulgeva ch'io m'innamorai. 
La luna in ciel la pare una bambina,
che vada e vada, a un ritrovo d'amor.
Passan le nubi sopra l'argentina
e passa una tristezza dentro al cor. 
La bianca luna scende ne la stanza,
dolce me sveglia e invitami a sognar.
Io sogno lui ch'è sola mia speranza,
cala la notte, io voglio lagrimar.
