Morgenhanen atter gol
(Sung text for setting by C. Nielsen)
 Matches base text
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Morgenhanen atter gol,
slog med dugget vinge,
lykke os den gyldne sol
vil med lyset bringe,
når vi takke ham i løn
over alle sole,
som gør morgenrøden skøn,
signer livets skole!

Dagen har han skabt til dåd,
skumringen til hvile,
ingen målte livets tråd,
derfor lad os ile:
gøre gavn, mens dagen går,
prøve vore kræfter,
visse på, at gode kår
rette sig derefter!

Ord i mund og skrift i bog
skal vor ungdom lære:
ret at bruge kraft og sprog,
livet til Guds ære;
da vor manddom, klog og stærk,
svare skal til navnet,
krone skolens ungdomsværk,
vise, det har gavnet!
