Des plus vives couleurs de sa palette
Un vieil artiste du Japon
A fait surgir mainte et mainte fleurette
Sur mon paravent de carton

Dans un jardin de mousse et de verdure
Voice l'anémone, l'oeillet;
Le chrysanthème à multiple frisure
Et la rose au pâle reflet.

Mais où le peintre a mis tout son génie
C'est dans les traits les yeux rieurs
D'une mousme, peut être son amie
Qui chemine parmi les fleurs.

Petite ombrelle, ô jeunesse, ô délice
Evoqués pour moi seulement!
Un importun dans ma chambre se glisse
Et je ferme mon paravent !
