by Jonas Love Almqvist (1793 - 1866)

En blomma står i hjärtats hem
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
En blomma står i hjärtats hem,
hon har ingen färg ännu,
Herren Gud i himmelen den blomman har gjort, o Du!
Blomman stod i hjärtats hem,
hon hade ej färg ännu,
men av Herren Gud dock hon hade namnet Törnros.
Rosens törnen såra hjärtat.
Då rinner blod derur.
Hjärtat frågar Herren:
"Hvi gav du den rosen åt mig?"
Herren himmelskt svarar: "Blodet utur ditt
hjärta färgar din ros åt dig:
Du och ditt hjärtas ros
då likna i fägring mig."
