Min unge Elskov baerer Slör
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Min unge Elskov baerer Slör.
for mig hun löfter den og ler
af Öjne, ingen anden aner,
de straaler, smelter, svaerger, maner; –
men Slöret for, straks nogen ser.

Alt godt, som to er ene om,
har tvefold Ynde, Hellighed.
At Livets lange Laengsler mödes
i to, som Sjael i Sjael genfödes,
er störste Lykke, Jorden ved.

Men hvorfor baerer hun saa Slör
og hulker i det uden Lyd,
som skulde briste hendez Hjerte?
Fordi det aevet er af Smerte, –
i Savn og Angst er al vor Fryd.
