tremula fata dal sorriso d'or
e il suo azzurro silenzio la tua sola
voce interrompe, o pallido canto.

Flebil la nota de la tua mandòla
vibra del plenilunio al gemmeo albor
come sottil profumo di viola 
che al bacio della luna olezza e muor.

Canta, o poeta, e come ne la bruna
selva l'innamorato trovator
cantava per scordare la fortuna

sognando de le fate l'aureo amor,
canta, ed al mite raggio de la luna
oblia del dí la luce ed i dolor.
