by Ludwig August Frankl (1810 - 1894)

Abendlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein kühler Lufthauch weht,
im Baum die Vögel schweigen,
und Glockenläuten geht:
Es ist der Tag im Neigen.

Sie sagen mir: Jetzt geh'n
die Sternlein auf am Himmel;
als Gottes Augen seh'n
sie in das Erdgewimmel.

Ich kann empor zu dir
nicht meinen Blick erheben,
doch du bist, Herr, in mir,
und ich in deinem Leben.

Einst deine weiche Hand
hebt mir den Flor vom Auge,
dass Berg und Meer und Land
ich in die Seele sauge.

Ich ruh', und Schlaf beginnt;
o lass es, Herr, geschehen:
was Licht und Farben sind,
in meinem Traum mich sehen!
