Det var en Yndig Foraarsstund blidt drømte land og sø, -
og blæsten tog sig Orlov og svang sig langt fra Ø.
men Lærken blev og sang derhjemme, derhjemme: 

Højt løfter mig mit Vingepar, dog Dalen dybt jeg seer. 
Dernede seer jeg Tvende, hvor Busken kjærligt leer.
Jeg tror de plukke røde Roser, saa liflige saa røde Roser, saa søde. 

"Ej Ungersvenden plukker dem af Pigens søde Mund;
Hun bytter dem mod andre fra Elskovsfagre Lund, 
Hun bytter mod andre fra Elskovs Lund, 
Hun bytter dem mod andre fra Elskovsfagre Lund, 
Men aldrig, aldrig end jeg skued de Roser, der saa 
dejligt lued, der saa dejligt lued!"
