by Karl Gustaf Larson (1873 - 1948), as Larin-Kyösti

Rannalla istuja
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Kuljin mä illalla kotikylän rantaan,
kirjoitin kultani hellän nimen santaan,
vesi oli tynni mutt' rintani sykki,
aallot keinukaa, kultaani tuutikaa.

Päilyvä päivä on maillensa saanut,
veikö se onneni, onko riemu laannut?
Tulit, hyvä ystävä, muinoinkin illoin,
tule nytkin vain, ole omanain.

Aallot ne soutavat pois kotirantaan,
huuhtovat nimen, jonka kirjoitin mä santaan,
laineet ne itkuni helmiä kantaa
kauas, kauas pois!

Älä koita huomen ja älä lennä siipi,
myrkkyinen murhe mun sydämeeni hiipi.
Ole hälle hellä niin kuin olit mulle.
Aallott, keinunkaa mustan meren taa.
