by Enrico Panzacchi (1840 - 1904)

In riva al mare
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Vieni! La notte è placida,
Le stelle si sorridono d'amor,
L'aura è piena di balsami
E di miti rugiade inonda i fior.

Teco sedermi io voglio
Laggiú, solettamente in riva al mare,
E ne' tuoi occhi, o Delia, io vo'
Lungamente i miei occhi fissar[e].

Vieni! Il vasto silenzio,
Spumeggiando, il maroso ai nostri piè
Rompa. Io, rapito e tacito,
Un solo accento attenderò da te;

Un accento che l'anima
Ti chiese con desio lungo e fedel.
Forse fia che l'impètrino
Gl'incanti della notte, il mar e il ciel.
