Fior di collina
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Tua morte vuol, chi ti trapianta al piano,
O fiorellin che cresci sovra il colle.
Ne' tuoi colori e nell'olezzo, invano
Il fiore io cerco delle amate zolle.

Cosí tu pur fanciulla, abbandonando
La liber'aura della tua collina,
Alla città scendevi, ivi cercando
Novelli fasti alla beltade alpina.

Vaga, gentil nelle natie campagne
Tu mi parevi. E nel mirar la tua
Beltà, livore delle tue compagne,
Gioiva il core nel sentirti sua.

Or sei fatta orgogliosa, eppur pretendi
L'antico omaggio e mi chiami crudele.
Torna a' tuoi monti e il tuo candor riprendi:
Io, come un dí, ritornerò fedele.
