On ne lèvera pas.

Reçois les doux baisers que tombent de ma lèvre
Sur ton front, sur tes yeux, sur tes chastes appas ;
Celui a qui je les donne, en apaisant ma fièvre,
Ne les sentira pas.

Mon cœur est dévoré d'une amertume extrême,
Ah ! laisse-moi pleurer et te dire bien bas :
Je souffre et je meure, mon trésor, je t'aime,
On ne l'entendra pas.
