Der Frühling kommt in voller Pracht, mich will's zu Haus' nicht leiden, mit Macht die Wanderlust erwacht, ich muss vom Städtlein nun scheiden. Hinaus in die Welt, die Brust sich schwellt, hinaus in die Welt! Und dass die Welt kein Ende hat, will mir so sehr gefallen; man lebt so frei, bekommt's nicht satt, das Weiterwandern und Wallen. Hinaus in die Welt etc. Die Vöglein und ein frisches Lied, die Winde, die Wellen, die Wellen, das sind, bei Gott, stets nimmermüd', die rechten Wandergesellen. Hinaus in die Welt etc.
