Huldigung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Gutes Mädchen! Könnt' ich Blumen finden,
die kein Herbst des Schmucks beraubt,
würd'ich sie zu einem Kranze winden,
und er blühte dir um's Haupt.

Wär' mir Philomelens Los beschieden,
und dich quälte banger Schmerz,
o dann säng' ich süssen Himmelsfrieden
in dein liebevolles Herz.

Knieten Tausende vor meinem Throne,
wär' der ganze Erdball mein,
dir zu Füssen legt' ich meine Krone,
um von dir geliebt zu sein.

Mädchen, das den Himmel mir enthüllte,
fordre was ein Gott mir gab !
Winkten selbst Elysiums Gefielde,
ging' ich doch für dich ins Grab.

Gutes Mädchen, gutes Mädchen!
