by Antonio Maria Trueba De la Quintana (1819 - 1899)

La serrana
Language: Spanish (Español)
Allá abajo en el valle
tengo una choza;
manzanitos floridos
le dan su sombra,
y entre las ramas
cantan allí las aves
por la mañana.

Al lado de mi choza
mana una fuente,
una fuente fresquita
como la nieve,
y a mi ventana
[trepan á darme flores
las pasionarias.]1

Solo falta a mi choza
y el alma busca
una cara de cielo
como la tuya.
Serrana hermosa,
deja tu serranía,
vente a mi choza.
