 Już z martwych nie powstaną.
Wszystko, co człowiek sercem tworzy,
Co widzi w kształtach, śniąc, że nie śni —
Jest tylko łodzią z mgły na zorzy,
 Na bystrej fali pianą...

Przemknęły lata spłomienione,
 Cały ich huf skrzydlaty.
Dziś mi się zdają takie z lica,
Jakby gdzieś w innem życiu śnione.
Próżno ożywia je tęsknica.
 Umarły moje światy.
