Nachtschifffahrt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Des Parkes Echo verstummte,
es schwieg die dämmernde Flut,
und blitzend durchzuckte die Wellen
des Mondes silberne Glut.

Und über blinkende Sterne,
die hinten uns wieder entflieh'n,
sahst uns're plätschernde Barke
viel silberne Funken zieh'n.

Und uns're Lieder erklangen
in großen Gefilde der nacht,
sie schwammen zum Parke hinüber,
wo freundlich das Echo erwacht.

Wohl gleiten blinkende Sterne
wie damals über die Flut,
wohl malt wie damals die Wellen
die kühle silberne Glut;

doch schweigend über die Fläche
treibt itzt die Barke daher.
Des Mondes leuchtendes Auge,
es findet das Schifflein leer.
