I vildene Skoven, med Natten foroven,
med Stjerner om Hoved og Sneen om Fod
du skjælvende stod.

Saa bar vi dig ind,
hvor Lysene brænder og Glæden du kjender,
hvor Kjærlighed flammer med flammende Skin
den furede Kind.

Hvis engang jeg staar
med Natten foroven i vildene Skoven,
mens Snelaget højere, højere gaar
og Hjertet mit naaer,

Det give da Gud,
at kjærlige Hænder, at Tanker som brænder,
maa bære og lyse med Julebud
af Natten mig ud.

Da hører jeg Ord
fra blinkende Grene: "Du staar ej alene,
du staar midt i Kransen, der bølger om Jord
af Søster og Bror".
