by Wilhelm Weigand (1862 - 1949)

Reines Glühen hält die Höh'n
Language: German (Deutsch)
Reines Glühen hält die Höh'n
Abendfeierlich umfangen,
Ob die Sonne, groß und schön,
Auch schon längst hinabgegangen.

Bläulich seh ich fern den Rauch
Aus der Thale Dämmrung steigen;
Rings kein Atem, rings kein Hauch!
Namenloses tiefes Schweigen.

Unnennbares Sehnen will
In der Brust mir nimmer sterben,
Während rings die Höhen still
Sich in tiefe Nacht verfärben.
