Glaube nicht dem Schmelz der Rosen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Glaube nicht dem Schmelz der Rosen,
Rosen bleichen und verblüh'n;
glaube nicht dem Glanz der Sterne,
Sterne fallen und verglüh'n.

Nicht den Glanzfantomen glaube
in dem sturmbewegten Sein;
Was ist Glanz, und was ist Schimmer?
Eines Irrlichts falscher Schein.

Doch hast du ein Herz gefunden,
das mit dir es redlich meint,
das in Freuden, das in Leiden
mit dir jubelt, mit dir weint:

O, dann glaube diesem Herzen,
so wie du dem Himmel glaubst,
wahr und treu; weh', wenn du zweifelnd
diesen Himmel selbst dir raubst!
