by Guerau de Liost (1878 - 1933)

Nit de Nadal
Language: Catalan (Català)
La gent reposa
colgada al llit.
El llop no gosa
moure brogit.
D'un vell estable
mal ajustat
la llum eixia.
Fuig el diable.
La nit és dia.
Jesús és Nat.

El bou recula
poquet a poc.
"Decanta't, mula,
per fer-li lloc".
Oh meravella!
Penja una estrella
de l'embigat.
Les profecies
són aquests dies,
Jesús és nat.

La neu afina
xòrrecs avall.
Canten el gall
i la gallina.
Els àngels broden
el cel d'estrelles.
Els pastors roden
amb vestits nous
perdent els bous
i les esquelles.
