by Alfred von Meißner (1822 - 1885)

Begegnen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Eine Silberlichtspur folgt dem Kahn
In der stillen Nacht auf seiner Bahn --
So ließ Dein Erscheinen eine helle
Spur in meines Lebens dunkler Welle.

Jene Spur, die in den Wassern ruht,
Wird verschwinden mit der nächsten Flut,
Doch die schöne Lichtspur im Gemüthe
Tilgt fürs Leben keines Sturms Gewüthe.

Confirmed with Alfred von Meissner, Gesammelte Schriften, achtzehnter Band: Dichtungen, Leipzig: Fr. Wilh. Grunow, 1872, page 135. Appears in Gedichte, erste Abtheilung, in Flocken.
