by Jens Nicolai Ludvig Schjørring (1825 - 1900)

Herrens venner ingen sinde
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Herrens venner ingen sinde
mødes skal for sidste gang!
Når til afsked tårer rinde,
dette ord har liflig klang.

Ses vi aldrig mer her nede
under dette stjernetag,
i den store helgenkæde
mødes vi på Herrens dag.

Må vi end med smerte bringe
kære venner vort farvel,
hisset skal der atter klinge
et goddag til liv og sjæl.

Når til afsked tårer rinde,
syng det ud med liflig klang:
Herrens venner ingen sinde
mødes skal for sidste gang!
