by Johann Heinrich Lütkens (1746 - 1814)

Gartenlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es schallt, o Gott, empor zu dir
der Dank aus froher Brust.
Mit diesem Danke schließen wir
jetzt unsre Gartenlust.

Hier hörten wir zur Frühlingszeit
die Vögel unsrer Flur.
Hier tönten um uns weit und breit
die Stimmen der Natur.

Hier sahn wir deine Gottesmacht
auch in dem kleinsten Wurm,
in jedes Baumes Blütenpracht,
im Sonnenschein und Sturm.

Wir sahn in jeder Sternennacht,
Jehova Zebaoth,
die Wahrheit, die der Tor verlacht:
Der Herr, der Herr ist Gott!

Preis, Dank und Ehre schalle dir
aus unsrer frohen Brust!
Mit diesem Danke schließen wir
jetzt unsre Gartenlust.
