She waited until patiently, He had lower'd all the bars, Her soft eyes bent upon him, As radiant as the stars. She neither smil'd nor thank'd him, In fact, she knew not how For he was but a farmer's lad, A barefoot farmer's lad, For he was but a farmer's lad, And she a Jersey cow.
