by Friedrich von Schwarzenberg (1800 - 1870)

Gruß vom Meere
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Sei mir gegrüßt in deiner Pracht,
Schwarzdunkles Meer!
Seid mir gegrüßt in dunkler Nacht,
Ihr Sterne um mich her!

Das Meer schäumt hoch am Felsenriff,
Die Sterne blinken hell;
Die Fluten teilet unser Schiff
Und segelt fort gar schnell.

Und dort, wo jener Stern erglüht,
Dort ist das ferne Land,
Wo einst mir Lieb und Lust erblüht
An ihrer schönen Hand.

Und denkt sie meiner auch nicht mehr,
So denk' ich ihrer doch
Und sende über Fels und Meer
Ihr tausend Grüße noch.
