by Lars Johan Paulinus "Paul" Nilsson (1866 - 1951)

O Gud som åter tänder
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
O Gud, som åter tänder
för oss en nyårsdag,
vi knäppa våra händer
och bedja: Fader, tag
oss alla i din famn!
Allt ont kan du fördriva,
ett gott nytt år oss giva
i Jesu Kristi namn.

Om rätt vi se tillbaka
på sist förflutna år
och du får oss rannsaka
för våra ögon står
var dag med fel och skuld.
Förlåt oss våra brister,
stryk ut vårt skuldregister,
o Gud och Fader huld.
