Wo ist ein Land gesegnet so
wie's deutsche Land am Rhein?
Wo klingt das Lied so laut und froh,
wo blüht und glüht ein Wein
wie der am Rhein?

Wo ist ein Volk so fromm und treu
wie's deutsche Land der Treu'n?
Wer schafft so still, wer denkt so frei,
wer wäre würd'ger, frei zu sein,
wie wir am Rhein?

Wo ist ein Volk so stark im Mut,
so milde im Verzeih'n?
Wer duldet mehr in heil'ger Glut
fürs Vaterland allein
wie wir am Rhein?

Und ob man uns zerrissen heißt,
wir denken insgemein,
uns knüpft das stärkste Bündnis Geist;
kein Volk wird geist'ger sein
wie wir am Rhein.
