Lätt på fot och finger, yr av levnadsmod
ur en brunn jag springer som är djup och god;
ur en brunn jag springer, en stråle blod.
Detta, som jag kallar Nu, I dag, och Mitt, 
i den brunnen svallar utan tidsavsnitt;
i den brunnen svallar mitt väsen fritt.

Den som söker dragga, ingen botten når;
brunnen var min vagga många tusen år,
brunnen var min vagga och blir min bår.
Kysst av sol på munnen i ett grönt kvarter
springer jag ur brunnen att behaga er,
faller jag i brunnen och syns ej mer.
