by Karl Alfred Melin (1849 - 1919)

Hvita rosor
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Jag vet en fager rosenlund,
dit flyr min längtan dag och stund,
därinne rosenträden stå
med hvita, hvita rosor på.

En flicka kommer stundom dit
och bryter sig en blomma hvit;
jag vet ej, hvem som hvitast är,
men rosen är så hvit och skär.

O flicka, flicka, hvad din själ
den hvita rosen liknar väl!
Jag vet ej, hvem som hvitast är,
men flickan är min hjärtans kär.

Confirmed with Dikter af K. A. Melin. Första samlingen, Stockholm, Wilhelm Billes Bokförlags Aktiebolag, 1909, pages 154-155.
