Tonerna
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Barn af känslan och naturen,
Himlens echon, jordens tröst!
Af er milda magt besvuren
Lugnas stormen i mitt bröst.

På er andevinge höjer
Sig min själ ur smärtans land,
Och i högre rymder dröjer,
Liksom vid en engels hand.

Gästar glädjen i min hydda
Eller vakar sorgen der;
Skall er trollkraft hjertat skydda
Emot villor och begär.

Armt är språket att förklara
Skaparn's väsen i kärleken!
Eder gafs att uppenbara
Strålen ifrån himmelen.

Det är aning blott, som strömmar
genom själens fibrer här,
Tonernas och sångens drömmar
En gång skola klarna der.
