Ljus som en vårsommarafton du är, 
ljuf som den doftande kåren
stryker en kväll öfver ängarnas strå, 
fläktar din andning kring mig också 
   Lindagull, dotter af våren! 

Ljust som den blom, som på kvällslugn vik 
regnar från bugande lindar, 
glänser ditt hår i en gullton rik, 
fläktadt af smekande vindar. 
Hyn på din kind är så len och varm, 
sidenhvit är din unga barm, 
  barn af de blommande lindar! 

Dunkelt, som källornas ögon jag såg 
långt i oaserna glimma, 
lyser din blick, när med bäfvande håg 
känslornas makt vi förnimma. 
Lindagull vare det namn du bär, 
du som för öknarnas vandrare är 
  morgonens gryende strimma.
