by Rudolph von Beyer (1810 - 1850), as Rupertus

Des Kindes Traum
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mutter, Mutter! Mir hatte geträumt,
es wären die Blumen gekommen
und hätten dein armes, krankes Kind
In ihren Schoß genommen.

Mutter, Mutter! Die Veilchen, ach,
die hielten mich eng umschlossen.
Mutter! Da hab' ich die Blumen auch
mit meinen Tränen begossen.

Mutter, Mutter! Wie ruhte sich's sanft
dort unter blühenden Rosen,
wo taugetränkt die Schneeglöcklein
mit duftender Heide kosen.

Mutter, Mutter! Wie wird mir so wohl,
ich sehe die blumigen Matten,
die sanft und weich dein armes Kind
im Traume umschlossen hatten!

Und brechend suchte das Auge noch
des Traumes duftig Gewinde;
sie blühten bald alle, zu Kränzen verwebt,
am Sarge dem lieblichen Kinde.
