Erbrause, Lebensatem, Windesreigen,
der du auf deinen Flügeln Keime trägst,
den winterlichen Früchtebaum erregst,
dass innen seine Säfte quellend steigen!

Noch ruht das volle Herz, wie in den Zweigen
die Äolsharfe hängt, von Tönen schwer,
die in die Saiten sind gebannt, bis er,
der Brausende, sie weckt aus ihrem Schweigen.

Bist du ein Frühlingshauch, der lieblich gleitend
den Staub der Blüten wirbelt himmelwärts?
Wirst du in Ungewittern donnernd schreitend

die Seele brechen, der du hier begegnest?
Erwecker, Schicksal, Liebelebensschmerz!
was du auch bringen magst, ich weiß, du segnest!
