Je ne veux t'apporter que des fleurs , que des roses ;
Le don d'un seul bijou flétrirait notre amour.
Les plus beaux sont brutaux, indiscrets et moroses ;
Les fleurs me plaisent mieux, ces chefs- d'œuvre d'un jour.

C'est comme un peu de toi qui revient vers toi- même;
Elles semblent danser autour de tes dix doigts
Et Jeur profusion reste légère, et j'aime
Que leurs plus gros bouquets aient aussi peu de poids.

Puis un collier plus tard, gênant comme une chaîne,
Au passé malgré toi pourrait te relier ;
Il ne subsiste rien d'une corolle vaine ;
Vois- tu, je ne veux pas t'empêcher d'oublier .
