Adoration des mages
Language: French (Français)
Enfant, une lumière étrange
Brillait au ciel semé d'éclairs
Quand jusques à nous des voix d'ange
Ont retenti du fond d'airs ;
Alors désertant nos domaines
Nous sommes venus, humble enfant,
Courber nos majestés humaines
Devant ton berceau triomphant.

Chacun t'apporte son offrande
A tour les délices du ciel ;
Les vierges la rose en guirlande
Les bergers le gâteau de miel ;
Comme il te faut tous les hommages
Ceux des faibles, ceux des puissants,
Nous t'apportons nous les rois mages
Le cinname l'or et l'encens.

Tu viens doux rayon d'espèrance
Guider les hommes à ton jour,
Tu viens sur le monde en souffrance
Verser la paix verser l'amour ;
O Dieu clément Dieu redoutable
Que nous saluons, immortel,
A toi le sommeil dans l'étable
Puis le calvaire, puis l'autel.
