Here in the little chamber by the lamp's so gloomy light I sit alone and lonely, late, late into the night. Yet no! Thou hoverest o'er me! No more I'm lonely now; what in my spirit liveth from thy bright eyes doth flow! Thou in my heart reposest, an image smiling near; in bliss and sorrow gazing on me so mild and dear! In ev'ry hour thy glances with peace my bosom fill, and in my heart's recesses bloom joy and gladness still. And from my bosom rushes a song of true love's sighs, which, to the ether soaring, to thee in greeting flies.
