by Jeppe Aakjær (1866 - 1930)

Ole sad på en knold og sang
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Ole sad på en knold og sang,
la la la la la, la la la la la
får og beder omkring ham sprang
Tra la la la la, la la la la la

Lyngen suses, og skyen gled
udflugtslængsler i hjertet sved.

Heden stænged, og mindet spandt
moders øjne dog stærkest bandt.

Snart den ting dog blev åbenbar
minder gør ikke sagen klar.

Stak så Ole en dag i trav
stod med eet ved det store hav.

Øjet skinned , tåren randt,
intet mere i verden bandt.

Over havene hyrden foer
fårene står der endnu og glor.

Ej kan bede og får forstå
længslers tog over bølgen blå.
