by Hallfríður Guðrún Eyjólfsdóttir (1866 - 1937), as Halla Eyjólfsdóttir

Máninn
Language: Icelandic (Íslenska)
Ertu það mildasti máni,
manstu að þráin mín er
heit til þín útí og inni
allsstaðar hvar sem ég fer?

Velkominn vinur á glugga,
vinátta þín er svo hrein,
farðu’ ekki undir eins frá mér,
fyrst ég er vakandi ein.

Nú þegar sólin er sofnuð,
sigin í úthafsins skaut,
enginn veit fyrr hvað hann átti
en það er horfið á braut.

Í tunglgljósi sælt er að sofna
ég segi við allt: „Góða nótt”.
Svo kyssi ég viðkvæmta á vanga
míns vinar, er dreymir hér rótt.
