Little bird
Language: English
Little bird, happy bird, what do you do Hopping in the bushes with the catkins over you? Hush! I know your secret_ don't let's tell the rest_ You're looking for a sheltered place to build a tiny nest! Little bird, trilling bird, where is your mate? Feed her on her hazel nest_ the evening's growing late. Take your station on a twig as men-birds do And keep one bright eye open as you see the long night through. Little bird, busy bird, questing for food, Here's a grub and there's a worm to feed a hungry brood. Soon the hazel bush will rustle all alone Still holding safe a tiny nest_ the little birds have flown.
