possibly by Friedrich von Gerstenberg and possibly by Heinrich (Hans) Wilhelm von Gerstenberg (1737 - 1823)

Himmelsblüten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach, das schönste Blumenleben
Ist hier unten mit den Wurzeln
Festgebunden an die Erde;
Kann nur heben
Seiner Augen sehnend Flehn
Zu den lichten Höh'n.

Da kommt Lieb' in Lichtes Glanze
Knüpft die Blüten,
Die in dunklem Ahnen glühten,
Sich zu einem duft'gen Kranze,
Gönnt sich mit der süßen Last
Unten keine Rast.

Trägt sie zu den Ätherwogen,
Streuet aus
Im azur'nen Wolkenhaus
All' die Blumen, die am Bogen
Gleich als lichte Sterne glüh'n,
Nimmer mehr verblüh'n.
